Default Gamepads

Anybody use one for Guild Wars? Just wondering since I may try one but since there's so many out there. Anybody mind posting their configuration too? Thanks!

edit: I mean things like the Nostromo n52, Fang Game Pad, etc.

lots of people do. i don't though, so i can't give you a config.
but i think many people use the triggers for modifiers, i.e. lt+abxy for skills 1-4, rt+abxy for skills 5-8

I use one of these:http://www.insidemacgames.com/reviews/view.php?ID=453

I left the main set of buttons almost the same for movement, adding the ctrl and alt keys near my pinky. then the 4 main directions on the d-pad i have set for target closest, target next, target previous, and target self. Then the button at the bottom by the thumb is the space bar.
I mostly just use it for movement and targeting, and leave everything else up to my mouse, yes i use the mouse for skills.

I use a Nostrommo and I always recommend it to everyone. It saves on hand cramping, and uncomfortable hand positions for button layouts. It's also centered down the middle instead of offset like all laptop keys which makes things way better for prety much every function. As for layouts, it's really easy to setup on the fly when you first get it going actually. You just put your weapons or skills on the far left side buttons and across the top row, walking strait down the middle with insta turn around on the down button spot, the row above your movement keys is your weapon change outs, and fill in the rest as you feel comfortable. I for one use my mouse to hit skills still and use the far left buttons on nostrommo for my weapons which suits me. It's just whatever you want on it but it's all good. You can't go wrong with that unit trust me.

If you're looking for configurations for the Belkin Nostromo n52 SpeedPad, try here:

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/showthread.php?t=777

Look at posts # 12 & 15.

I use one of these to play Guild Wars.

I posted my profile and some of the configuration here.

There is a thread in Community Works on page two about using the 360 gamepad to play. http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...hlight=gamepad

I used to use a Saitek P880 Dual Analod USB GamePad that was basically a PS2 controller with extra buttons. When I say "used to use," I really mean that I tried it out for a couple days in Pre and was charmed by its novelty, but otherwise uninterested in using it further.

It's not that you can't do everything with a gamepad, it's that you can't do as much, as quickly. A keyboard and mouse may not be as ergonomic, but it's more efficient.
